“There are a lot of great products out there that are high-quality and effective, but not expensive,” said ARNADA NATURALS owner Christopher Read, who began his career in the early 1990s as a nutrition buyer for Whole Foods Markets.  “Good health doesn’t have to feel like a luxury, and it really shouldn’t be intimidating.  We’re out to create a convenient, pleasant, welcoming place where people can find new ways to improve their well-being.”

What is the most important thing an individual can do for his or her own health in 2010?  “Make one small positive change and stick to it,” said Read.  “Choose something you can do easily: take a good multi-vitamin every day, upgrade your skin-care regime, eat more whole grains, drink more water, or get more sleep or exercise.  Whatever it is, make that one step.  You’ll feel so good it will lead to another, then another, and 2010 can be your healthiest year yet.”

ARNADA NATURALS joins a bevy of existing health-oriented businesses in Uptown Village.  The Broadway shop is near the Vancouver Health and Wellness Center and in the same block as Bad Monkey Bikes, Fit Sisters health club, and Beyond Bliss day spa.

In spite of the recent economic downturn, several small businesses have opened recently in Uptown Village.  “The Broadway section of the district is really starting to grow,” said Uptown Village Merchants’ Association President Claire Ghormley, an owner of Mon Ami Creperie and Coffee Shop and the newly opened Ja Taime bakery.  “We’re thrilled to have Arnada Naturals to add to Uptown’s variety and think they will be very successful.”
